This pet portrait is so fun to have in the studio. It will be hard to part with it for Christmas, but I must. The ruby red tones in the background and the expressions on the dog’s faces make this a real heart warmer.

This is the beginning phase of what will be a truly great painting. The character and contrast is size of these two dogs naturally lends themselves to a great composition.

The undertones in the painting are bold yet balanced. I plan to create layers to build up the natural colors within the dog’s fur while keeping that spunky personality shining through. More to come soon!!!
