Original Photo for Cha Cha’s Pet Portrait
Here it is, the online unveiling of Cha Cha’s gorgeous pet portrait. In this painting, I had meticulously layered many vibrant color, orange, neon pinks, turquoise blues, and yellows, to build up his undercoat. Since Cha Cha’s fur is thick, it was important to create depth through color. Next, I needed to build up his “fluff” with highlights of even more color. Since he is mostly neutral colors, I found it important to develop a language of color to best illustrate his textures and softness. I also found it important to add a deeper jewel-like color for the background to give his painting a deeper and richer body. I am very happy with this portrait. I did take my time with it to make sure the beauty would be captured and shine through. I cannot wait for this painting to head off to California!
