Pet Portrait, Wow!!! This beauty is quite a gem of a canine! This breed is a Mexican Hairless. Originally bred in Latin America, namely Peru, this near furless dog won’t be found basking in the sun without risking some serious sunburn! His sharply sculpted features were simply an artist’s delight to paint. Zapata Studios, Pittsburgh.

Handsome Jake 2, the second commissioned pet portrait. Jake’s owner loved the first portrait and was generous enough to donate the work of art to a fundraiser for an animal shelter in Pittsburgh. This pet portrait he decided to keep for himself.

Commissioned fine oil family portrait with Daisy the dog

Participants at had the 2006 Bark in the Park had the opportunity to join in the fun by painting a pet portrait on canvas for themselves! See how this work of art was created…

This fantastic pet portrait of Zero was painted at the Carol Gates Gluck Resource Center at Animal Friends. I drew the image of Zero onto the canvas and delineated the areas of color. Each area was assigned a color in a paint by number fashion. The result is a great pet portrait work of art to grace the Animal Friends walls for years to come!

This precious pup was temporarily living at Animal Friends when I first saw him. I could not resist taking his picture. Being photogenic, he happily posed for my camera. The life in his eyes was remarkable. It penetrated through to the canvas easily. I am sure he is delighting a lucky family today! Zapata Studios, Pittsburgh.

Move over world!!! This English Bulldog truly lives upto his namesake. This stout pup, curious of my camera, came charging head first, leaving a lasting imprint on my brain and paintbrush. Zapata Studios, Pittsburgh.

Pet Portrait, This little spitfire of a dog was the crowning jewel of this family of three other canine companions.
